Mrs. Joy's Corner - Curriculum

Hello, families! I hope you enjoy learning about the ELC curriculum planned for your child. The curriculum is very special to me, as I have poured my heart and soul into the lessons that your children will be taught.

The infant and toddler classrooms are provided with numerous resources on colors, shapes, animals, nursery rhymes and sign language. Planned lessons are created for the 2 and 3 year old class as well as my Preschool class. Daily, students are challenged and encouraged to discover the world through various activities and experiences.

Throughout the year every classroom utilizes materials from Squires Library, the Curriculum Library, and the Cleveland Public Library and NEW to us this fall- the Book Mobile! In order for your child to use the book mobile, parents must attain a Library card for their child from the Cleveland Public Library prior to the first day when we are visited by the book mobile. Any questions you may have about getting a library card should be directed to the Cleveland Public Library staff at 423-472-2163. *Specific details on the book mobile visiting ELC are soon to come. *

Parents, your involvement is essential in your child's academic life. Start your child's love of learning early by reading to them daily and discussing what you read together. This can be a very special time spent together learning about the various interests that your child has. *Get that library card! * Also, we LOVE visitors! If you have some time you would like to spend in one of the classrooms throughout the year please let me know. We would love to schedule you to be a guest reader or help out in a classroom with art time. If you prefer helping in other ways, we ALWAYS need things copied or laminated. Even a trip to return library books would be greatly appreciated!
